The Manchester Youth Participation Group helps Connexions to develop its services to help more young people.
The group attends meetings where we listen to the views and opinions of all team members we then feed back to the Connexions service. The group work together sharing ideas and creating and planning projects.
Over the past 2 years as well as representing the view of young people at the meetings the group have been involved in a number of both fun activities and personal development opportunities.
You will have the opportunity to gain a variety of new experiences and activities.
You will develop new skills such as teamwork and communication skills and gain experience of how an organisation is managed.
You will learn about the day to day running and standards of the Connexions service, and also its long term plans and strategy.
All of this experience can be used on your CV and will show a variety of skills when looking for a job.
The group is open to young people 13-19. You don't need to have used the service to get involved.
For more information or to get involved contact Jeff Mills on 0161 437 4288 to arrange an individual meeting or to find out when the next group meeting is.
